I am so sorry sweety, I fought that headache until this morning and now I am trying to get work done and tonight is Spring cleaning for trash here and I have tons to haul out of here, LOL
Anyway, I found a site that sells the ammonia stuff, and you can get a small bottle for under ten dollars, or a gallon for $25.00. It's concentrated too, so it should go a long way.
I think you have the right idea with asking your son to replace the paneling, it is better to be safe than sorry.
As for antibiotics, I personally do not take them, ever! I'm real big on herb's and found an herb that is a natural antibiotic, and it will treat a virus, bacteria, and fungal infections. It's called Olive Leaf Extract, I call it "God's antibiotic". My whole family takes it throughout the winter months, any time we start feeling sick, it works.
I will gather up some more info for you in an bit here, I wanted to get this link to you so your son can get this stuff if he wants to try it and get that room done before he ends up bad sick from that stuff.

The ammonia they use is highly concentrated. It is very nasty stuff and you have to wear a gas mask type respirator or it will burn your lungs. I'll have to do a search and get you a few links on where to buy it. It is a bit costly, dh said he believes it is about $65.00 for a 5 gallon bucket. Compared to the cost of replacing walls and floors and your health, $65.00 is cheep.
Unfortunately the only thing I know of to clean the body from the toxins is a program that a doctor in I think Boston has, but it is costly. I'll get you a link to that too. They have a test on their site you can take that will show if you may possibly have mold poisoning.
I'm not sure if they make anti-allergen filters for the window units, but one thing we also did to our window units was we hosed them out real good a few times through the summer, it helped to keep the mold from growing inside the drip pan area.
You sound like you go through the same thing I do every year. I avoid the outdoors, especially after a heavy rain. It never fails every time it rains and I go outside, my face starts turning beet red, it starts burning and itching, and I can feel the heat just radiating from my skin. I make my own hand cream and it helps a ton to keep the burning and itching out, but it must look funny because I cake it on my face thick, LOL Spring and Fall are just horrible on my allergies too.
What you described at your sons house sounds scary. It is possible that it is only on the surface paint and cleaning it all off took care of it, but it is very possible that it was actually growing out from the inside of the wall, in which case the only way to get rid of it is to tear out the wall and replace all the drywall and insulation and any wood that may be affected. I have a friend that left for vacation and their toilet over flowed for two days before anyone came in and found it. To make a long story short, they came home two weeks later to find that my friend, after 15 minutes in the house got so sick and could not breath, that they had to leave and call the insurance company and remediation experts. It took 6 months and over $70,000.00 to finally clean it all up and rebuild everything that had molded. Fortunately the mold only went into one wall and the floor, had it been much worse the house would have been a total disaster and most likely would have had to been torn down. They could not stay in the house while the remediation was being done either, so they had to rent an apartment on top of the cost of repairs. I'm going to write up her whole story and put it up on my site.
I believe that God has put us through all he has with the mold and other air pollutants because he wants us to "raise of voices" and spread the word about this growing problem. I've had a hard time doing that because so many people treat me like a crazed idiot, but then God places someone like you in my life and I see that regardless of how much we are made to feel like a fool by those who don't want to hear our message, we must keep telling our story and spreading our message so that the few who will hear and listen will be helped.
I've been dealing with a horrible mold headache all day today. We went to a wedding yesterday and the Church has mold in the basement from leaks in the foundation, and I spent a lot of time down there helping the caters get everything ready, and I was breathing heavy and sucking in lots of spores I'm sure. Fortunately I was only in there a couple of hours. Anyway the point of that is, I will not be able to do it tonight, but tomorrow I will gather up some links and info for you and get it to you.

Where do you buy this ammonia OR is it the regular ammonia you buy for housecleaning?? Also IF I was toxic what gets it out of your system..? I use a 110 small airconditioner.... for my bedroom that has those small flat air filters...how or do they make those anti-alergin air filter for them??? I usually dodge going outside during this heavy pollen season. I usually get sick this time of the year and also in OCT. when the weather changes. These are two bad times of the year for me. I think your website is very helpful...I read it a long time ago,,,,that is one reason I got down on my son about getting it out of there. When his hot water heater broke...he changed it out and shut the empty room off for the winter then when I looked in...it was about 1/3 up the walls. It looks clean now BUT who knows??

Believe it or not it could be molds that are causing you trouble, as well as other allergens. There is so much rain this time of year and all the moisture gets the mold growing.
The Midwest and the South is full of mold. Being in your son's house could have aggrivated what you already go through every year too. Even though you were only there a couple of days, your body could have gotten enough of what mold spores are in the air to make you sick and have a hard time fighting it. Worse still, if you go to the doctor and get antibiotics you could actually end up sicker! If I spent two days in a house with any amount of mold, it would have me extremely sick and in great pain throughout my entire body.
Like you, I've had asthma since I was a very young child. I've always had allergies to pollens, dust chemicals, and most medications. My allergies were worse in the Spring and the Fall. After living in a house with mold growing throughout the walls, I am allergic to so much more, and the allergies I already had, which was able to live with, suddenly over a 5 year peiod became so bad that I cannot even pick a tomatoe without my face and arms breaking out in a red burning, itching rash. After all our research on mold, I have no doubt that the mold from the house has toxified my body to a point that it is taking a long time for all the toxins to flush from our bodies, and unfortunatly some of the problems will never leave us. My husband has emphysema from mold. Our youngest son and daughter have asthma, and the doctor said it was from the mold in the house we were in. My lungs are in bad shape, and I live with pains throughout my entire body every day, my fingers, hands, and my feet and legs feel like they have cramps in them, and my back, ribs, and chest feel as though someone beat me with a baseball bat. I have lived with these pains for close to 4 years, it got real bad 2 years ago. It's getting more bareable now, and some days the pain is very slight, so long as I do not get around any mold, which is not easy to avoid in Indiana, the mold is just horrible here.
What is even worse about mold is that the remidiation is a very touchy issue. If you do not do it all just right, you will set loose 10,000 times more spores than what is already being released. Unfortunatly the only thing that will "kill" mold is Quadratic Ammonia, some really nasty stuff. Clorine only kills what is on the surface, and can actually make matters worse because you've just saturated the problem with a water based liquid that will just grow more mold.
Sorry to go on so, but I believe God has placed this all in my families lives for a reason, and I feel it is to educate and help others. I hate to see people hurt from mold. I know first hand what mold can do, and I just cannot keep quiet about it.

Thank you, you are my second prayer partner...I more and I am healed. I read your page about molds...very informative. I was at my son's house where he had mold from a busted waterheater. He was having walls & room cleaned with straight Clorox BUT I was only there a day or so and didn't go in room. lol. Marie p.s. I was born with asthma and had whopping couch as baby (weak lungs)...this attack is not unusal for me during this time of year.

I'm Praying for you dear, I know all too well what it is like to be sick for a long time. I'm currious about where about you live? I live in the Midwest and the allergens and especially molds are horrible here. Our family has spent the past two years very ill and it all stems from a very moldy house that we lived in for 5 years. You mentioned the doctor said asthma attack and it just made me question if you possibly have an allergy to mold and that is what is making you sick. You would not believe how many people are suffering from mold toxcisity and don't even know it. Mold can cause many illnesses too. Cancers, lupus, asthma, arthritis, emphasemia, fybromialgia, headaches, and that is a small list. I'm not trying to scare you, but my family has gone through more in the last 6 years than anyone should be put through, and it was all because of mold, and lost almost everything we owned too. I have made it my Ministry to educate all who will hear me.

I am sick of being sick...I need two or three agreeing in prayer according to God's Word for my healing. I have been ill since BEFORE Easter...(didn't even get to go to my darling sister's family EASTER dinner BUT my sweet daughter did bring me a delicious plate home) I went to doctor and he said I was in asthma attacks etc. BUT it feels like the flu BUT the Lord knows...all I know...I ready to be healed. Please pray for me....enough is enough!!! I am ready to be healed in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord! Amen
